Installation guide

Your sticker will reach you rolled up in a cardboard tube. In order for the application to go smoother, we recommend taking the sticker out of the tube and letting it stay flat (use a book or a similar object to keep the corners in place) for a few hours so it flattens out.

You will notice there are three layers of the material:
•    The backing paper to which the PVC-free film (the actual sticker) is attached to
•    The PVC-free film – this is the sticker you want to see on your wall or other chosen surface after you finish the application
•    The application paper, which allows you to transfer the sticker onto the wall or other chosen surface
Let’s call these three layers, as long as they are still together in one piece, the set.

In order for your sticker to attach nicely and look great, follow these steps for application:

STEP 1.    Decide where exactly you want your sticker to be.

STEP 2.    Wipe the chosen surface with a dry cloth to get rid of any dust. Make sure the surface is as clean as possible before applying. Your hands, too.

STEP 3.    Position the set on the chosen surface and stick it down with some masking tape on the corners. Make sure it is positioned equally and exactly where you want it to be.

STEP 4.    Put two stripes of a masking tape along the centre line of the set from one side of the set to the opposite one, accordingly:
a.    If your sticker is more of a vertical shape (as is in case of Life is cinema or Would you dance with me?), put the masking tape horizontally along the centre axis.
b.    If your sticker is more of a horizontal shape (as is in case Let there be light or Let’s take a ride), put the masking tape vertically along the centre axis.
This is the so-called centre hinge method.

STEP 5.    Take the masking tape off the corners of the set on one side – either right / left (in case of a horizontally shaped sticker) or up / down (in case of a vertically shaped sticker) – and pull back the set alongside but not more than the centre tape line. You will in essence fold your set in half and the top layer in front of you will now be the backing paper.

NB: In case you chose a horizontal sticker, you may fold from, say, right to left. In case you chose a vertical sticker, you may fold from, say, down upwards. In both cases, you will start Step 6 holding the top left corner of the set.

STEP 6.    Holding the chosen corner of the folded set, start slowly and carefully peeling of the backing paper against the surface at the angle of 0 to 30 degrees (the lower the better) towards the centre (taped) line. Once you reach the centre line, you will be holding your sticker on application paper on one side and empty backing paper will be hanging loose across the centre line.

STEP 7.    In case the sticker gets stuck on the backing paper and isn’t transferring to the application paper, stop for a second. Roll back the backing paper a little bit and apply the pressure with your finger tip to make it stick to the application paper. Repeat until the sticker comes off the backing paper nicely and stays on the application paper.

STEP 8.    Take a pair of scissors and cut off the excessive backing paper across the centre line. Be careful to only cut off the clearly empty batch of backing paper, with no sticker parts attached to it.

STEP 9.    Once you removed the excess backing paper, grab both corners of the folded sticker, keep it straight and tight, and unfold it back slowly by moving closer to the surface and sticking it on.

NB: In case you chose a horizontal sticker, you will unfold it from left to right. In case you chose a vertical sticker, you will unfold it from up downwards.

STEP 10.    In order to avoid any bubbles on the sticker, do not touch it fingers just yet. Instead take a squeegee or a plastic payment card and start to squeegee from the middle outwards, throughout the whole design without leaving even the smallest part untouched. This will release the sticker from the application paper and onto your chosen surface.

NB: In case you chose a horizontal sticker, squeegee from the middle line up and down, starting alongside the vertically placed tape line and moving further out. In case you chose a vertical sticker, squeegee from the middle line right and left, starting alongside the horizontally placed tape line and moving further out.

STEP 11.    Take the middle tape line and the corner tape off and repeat Steps 5, 6, 7, 9 and 10 with the other half of a sticker.

STEP 12.    Once your whole sticker, although still covered with application paper, is on the chosen surface, take a damp cloth and wipe the sticker area with it. This helps release the application paper easier, especially if your chosen surface is colder at the point of application.

STEP 13.    By starting at the corner, slowly peel of the application paper diagonally at the angle of 0 to 30 degrees (the lower the better). Make sure you hold the peeling application paper closer to the surface – peel as long as comfortable and put your hands back up to continue the diagonal peel off all the way through. If some part of the sticker remains on the application paper and does not stick to the wall, repeat Step 7 and then try again.

STEP 14.    Congratulations, you have successfully hygged up your space! Do not forget to share your experience with us and post the new look of your wall online.
